Definition
Biometrics uses measurable physical or behavioral characteristics to identify a person or verify a claimed identity.
Usage and related concepts
Faces and fingerprints are common examples. A device may use biometrics to unlock local credentials; this is not the same as using a fingerprint as a website password, and biometrics is not synonymous with passkeys.
